Unlike mainstream thrillers that rely on jump scares or loud background scores, Udal derives its terror from silence and realism. The plot revolves around a brutal murder that occurs in a village called Keezhariyur. Sunny (played masterfully by Dinesh Prabhakar) and his friend Joy (Shine Tom Chacko) find themselves entangled in a situation where a man is beaten to death over a petty theft accusation.

Directed by Ratheesh Reghunandan, is a dark, claustrophobic thriller set during the COVID-19 lockdown. The story follows Shiny (Durga Krishna), a housewife who feels suffocated while caring for her bedridden mother-in-law under the watchful eye of her father-in-law, Kuttichayan (Indrans).
