: If you've lost your serial number, you might find it in the product documentation, on the product's packaging, or within the software itself (often under "Help" or "About"). For software, it might also be stored in an email if you purchased it online.

Store the serial number in a password manager or offline document. If you lose it, the vendor can usually retrieve it from your account.

Without a legitimate codec, other programs may only see a flattened preview or fail to open the PSD at all.
