Far Cry 4 (2014) features a non-linear open-world structure interspersed with critical narrative missions. Due to the game’s reliance on autosave checkpoints rather than a user-controlled "save anywhere" system, players often find themselves unable to replay specific narrative beats without restarting the game entirely. This paper explores the technical structure of Far Cry 4 save files, the methodology for manually importing mission-specific saves, and the ethical and functional considerations of utilizing third-party save archives.
